OUR STORY

Family owned and operated

Craig Morgan & his Son, Kyle

Our Story

In January of 2016 the Greer family purchased a 50 acre piece of property that sits on a 70 acre stream feed lake, Near Trapper Creek, Alaska. As a family, they always dreamed of owning an off-grid piece of Alaska, due to its beautiful natural wildlife, fishing, hunting, foraging and the beautiful and brutal way of the Alaskan lifestyle.

Initially, the property was purchased to be a place for family and friends to enjoy the great, rugged, and wild Alaska! They never had a desire or calling to start a business, nor any idea of how much that little piece of property would come to mean to them.

Shortly after purchasing the property in 2016 Jerry, Craig’s nineteen year old son, passed away in a boating accident. Jerry never got to visit the property, but during the first family trip, Craig officially named the lake, Jerry Lake. From there, the family would visit often, not realizing that with every trip and every experience, seeds were being planted for the fruition of Jerry Lake Alaska.

After years of travels, studies, trainings, and research, Craig and Kyle have taken all they’ve learned and applied it to an off grid living experience. They’ve spent the last six years developing their secluded property that is 9 miles from the closest road, 45 miles from the closest town, and where there’s no electricity and no running water. Nestled on a peninsula surrounded by a beautiful lake where the only sounds you will hear are birds, frogs, and the occasional moose call or wolf howl, and every so often the flyby of a bush plane. It’s a place where the serenity and romance of Alaska’s great outdoors exist in its purest form.

Now with Craig Morgan’s Alaskan Off Grid Experience, you can enjoy the off-grid lifestyle and learn what it takes to thrive in such a harsh environment called life. Learning everything from emergency survival skills, such as fire building and shelter building to full time off grid living. Depending on the time of year, activities included are fishing, hiking, food gathering, log cabin construction, snow-machining, snowshoe hiking, cross country skiing, ice fishing, and more.
